A new HYBRID model is coming to Root Physiotherapy!

It's hard to believe it's been two months since I had to close my doors to in person appointments - it seems like yesterday and ages ago all at the same time.

Apart from a few minor tech issues early on, virtual appointments have been going really well and I've been enjoying helping and connecting with people in adifferent way! Doing ergonomic assessments of home work stations, guiding people through doing hands-on self treatment, and developing creative home workout routines for people who would normally be gym or yoga studio regulars has been fun and rewarding during this time away from the clinic.

For those of you who have tried a virtual appointment, please feel free to provide me with feedback about how I can continue to make this service even better!

If you would like to book a virtual physiotherapy appointment - you can do so at any time, on my online booking page by simply clicking here.

In tandem with in person appointments, VIRTUAL APPOINTMENTS ARE HERE TO STAY, and will continue to be an option for you long after I am able to open my clinic doors again: a hybrid model moving forward.

Speaking of which, as you know - things are starting to open up again in Ontario, and looking to other provinces as an example, physiotherapy services are likely to be in one of the early phases of reopening here as well. Rest assured I have been planning and preparing to reopen for in person appointments in this "new normal".

It is of utmost importance to me that you feel safe and confident in resuming in person appointments, once we get the green light to do so. I will be following the guidelines set out by the Government of Ontario and theCollege of Physiotherapists of Ontario once they are released, but in themeantime, I am in the process gathering all the supplies we will need for safe treatments. Sourcing gloves, masks, hand sanitizer and covid-approved disinfectants, as well as developing new cleaning and infection control protocols have been my hobbies of late. :)

In anticipation of reopening, I have created a "Call List" for in person appointments. My in person clinic hours may be limited in the first weeks back, in order to ensure social distancing, time to thoroughly clean my office between patients, and to preserve time in the week for ongoing virtual appointments. Once I have a confirmed date for re-opening, I will send out another email update and begin contacting everyone on the Call List to coordinate in person appointments. Email me here to be added to the Call List.

If you have an urgent need for treatment, please feel free to be in touch anytime about setting up an appointment. Under certain circumstances, urgent-care appointments may be permitted, even prior to my official reopening.

This has been a challenging time for us all to say the least, and it's a long road ahead. I heard a quote the other day that stuck with me so I thought I would leave it here for you: "we are not all in the same boat, we are in the same storm but in different boats". This pandemic has created a completely different set of circumstances for each of us, even though we are all in this together. I hope that, whatever situation you find yourself in, you are managing, or even finding some positives in the change of pace and time at home this has created.

I look forward to seeing you again soon!
In health,
Sarah
